Columbia, Mo – Fire Crews from the Columbia Fire Department responded to a Structure Fire at 1509 West Worley Street at 2:43 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2009.

Responding fire crews arrived at the duplex in less then four (4) minutes to find heavy smoke coming from the east side of the duplex.  Fire fighters were able to knock the fire down in less then five minutes. Fire damage was contained to one bedroom however some smoke damage occurred throughout the unit on the east side of the duplex.

The occupants of 1509 West Worley were at a neighbor’s house at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.

An investigation is currently underway to determine fire cause and origin.  An approximate damage estimate will be provided at the conclusion of the investigation.
