Two Vehicle Accident Traps Uninjured Victim
Columbia Fire Fighters were called at 9:18 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2010 to the intersection of Ash Street and Providence Road for a report of an extrication accident.
Fire Fighters arrived and found a burgundy Ford Expedition on its side, and a silver Ford Mustang with moderate front end damage in the roadway. Fire crews discovered one female victim, the driver, trapped but uninjured inside the Expedition. Crews used equipment from the Columbia Fire Department's Heavy Rescue Squad to stabilize the vehicle, and then removed the rear window and one row of seats. It took crews approximately 10 minutes to free the victim through the rear window. The victim was uninjured and declined and medical attention at the scene.
There were no injuries related to this incident.
