<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Fire Damages Home on Hope Pl.</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 809 Hope Pl. on Thursday, October 13th, 2016 at 11:13 AM.  Fire crews arrived in less than five minutes and saw smoke coming from the west side of a single family home.</p>
<p>Crews pulled a preconnected hose line and performed an aggressive fire attack.  The majority of fire damage was confined to the west, exterior wall.  One adult was home at the time of the fire and was able to exit safely.  </p>
<p>Assistant Fire Marshal Michael Bauer investigated the fire.  Bauer determined the fire originated on the west side, exterior of the residence.  The cause of the fire was heat from a portable generator igniting mulch.  Bauer estimates the damage at $20,000.</p>
<p>Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call.</p></div>
