<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Shooting near the area of Garth Avenue and Sexton Road</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">Columbia Police officers were dispatched to the area of Worley Street and Oak Street at 1:54 a.m. today in reference to shots heard. While en-route Boone County Joint Communications advised officers that a gunshot wound victim had been located outside of the police department.</p>

<p>Officers responded to the department and located a vehicle with multiple bullet holes in the passenger side. There were four occupants inside the vehicle; the female driver of the vehicle was identified as the gunshot wound victim. Officers observed a minor laceration to her shin as a result of gunfire. The victim denied transport to the hospital for her injury.</p>

<p>The investigation revealed the victims' vehicle had been traveling south on Garth Avenue towards Sexton Road when multiple shots struck the vehicle. An occupant of the vehicle reported seeing a male suspect holding a handgun just north of the intersection of Garth Avenue and Sexton Road before the shooting began. Officer located one shell casing north of a residence in the 100 block of Sexton Road. The investigation is on-going.</p>
