<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Fire Damages Trailer in Northeast Columbia</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 3900 Clark Lane on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:15 AM.  Fire crews arrived less than five minutes later to find smoke and flames coming from the roof of a medium sized travel trailer used as a permanent residence.  </p>
<p>Fire crews used a preconnected hose line to extinguish the fire and brought it under control in approximately 10 minutes.</p>
<p>The trailer sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.  No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.  Crews found working smoke alarms when extinguishing the fire.</p>
<p>Assistant Fire Marshal Joel Pauley investigated the fire and determined the origin to be the top of a kitchen stove.  The cause of the fire is unattended cooking.  Pauley estimated the damage at $8000.</p>
<p>The Columbia Fire Department reminds citizens to "Don't wait - Check the date: Replace smoke alarm every 10 years".</p></div>
