<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Semi-Trailer Truck Crashes Into Commercial Building</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle into a building with fire at the Olive Garden restaurant (1300 I-70 Drive Southwest) on Friday, October 27, 2016 at 3:10 AM.  Units arrived approximately five minutes later and found a Semi-Trailer Truck into the west side of the Olive Garden restaurant.  Crews observed heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the truck and west side of the building.  </p>
<p>Crews performed a rapid fire attack using a combination of hand lines and aerial devices.  A second alarm was called after initial crews arrived, which dispatched additional Columbia Fire units to the scene.  The fire was under control in approximately 40 minutes.</p>
<p>The driver of the Semi was transported by ambulance to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  </p>
<p>City of Columbia Building and Site personnel are on the scene and assessing the structure for damage.  The Health Department was also notified. </p>
<p>A total of 17 fire units responded to the scene.  No firefighter injuries were reported.  A damage estimate is not currently available.</p>
