<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Columbia Public Works to conduct Dry Snow Run training event on Nov. 16</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">On Wednesday, Nov. 16, Columbia Public Works will conduct its annual Dry Snow Run. The purpose of this event is to review safety procedures for plow drivers and review snow routes. Drivers will also practice their designated routes and go to the Salt Dome as necessary.  The Dry Snow Run driver-training event will be held at the Grissum Building, located at 1313 Lakeview Ave, and throughout the City.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Media are invited to examine Street Division plows and facilities, take a tour of the Salt Dome or ride along as drivers practice their routes.  The ride-alongs begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the tour at 10:30 a.m. Anyone interested in the ride-along or tour are asked to please contact Public Works media relations prior to the event, if possible, by calling (573) 874-2489 or emailing PubW@CoMo.gov. </span></p>

<p><strong>BACKGROUND:</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">During an actual snow event, crews will plow and treat residential streets to a passable condition during regular working hours, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For snows of more than four inches, crews will use overtime as necessary. If snow is expected to accumulate more than two inches, the Columbia Parking Utility will enforce designated priority snow routes, which means cars parking on those streets are subject to towing and fines.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Designated Snow Routes are clearly marked with red and blue signs that say "No Parking When Snow is Over 2 Inches." Complete maps of priority streets and designated snow routes, as well as more information about on snow ordinances, will be available at CoMoSnow.com. The parking utility will also be placing informational flyers on cars that park on Designated Snow Routes on Nov. 11 and Nov. 16.</span></p>
