<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Commission on Cultural Affairs welcomes new commissioner, executive officers</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">The Commission on Cultural Affairs welcomes its newest member, Ellen Rippeto, who was appointed by City Council at its Oct. 17 meeting.</p>
<p>Rippeto is practically a native of Columbia having moved here when she was 7 years old. She attended Lee Elementary School, Jefferson Junior High School and Hickman High School before graduating from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in interior design and an MBA. Rippeto first worked at Hallmark Cards in Creative Services before spending 10 years at GEICO in Washington, D.C. as director of the Marketing Research Division. She moved back to Columbia with her husband, Tom, in 2009, and has since worked with several organizations as a community volunteer.</p>
<p>At the Commission on Cultural Affairs' last meeting on Oct. 10 the following officers were approved for fiscal year 2017: Aaron Krawitz, chair; Melody Marcks, vice chair; Lili Vianello, secretary; and Mike Sleadd, member-at-.arge. The officers serve on the Executive Committee for the Commission. <br /> <br /> Established by City Council in 1994, the Commission on Cultural Affairs acts in an advisory capacity in all matters pertaining to the arts and cultural environment of the City. The Commission also makes recommendations on City funding of arts programs and services.</p>
<p>The next meeting of the Commission on Cultural Affairs is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 12, 4:15 p.m. in the Community Room of the Walton Building, 300 S. Providence Road. For more information, contact the Office of Cultural Affairs at 573-874-6386 or email OCA@CoMo.gov.<br /> <br /> Attachments:</p>
