<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;">The Columbia Public Works Street Division plans to begin treating neighborhood streets overnight, working from the inner streets of the City to the outer streets. (During the next winter event, crews will begin from the outer part of the City and work inward, rotating thereafter.)</p>

<p style="display: inline;">About 25 pieces of equipment continue to treat the streets with salt. Columbia Public Works follows the procedures outlined at <a href="http://www.CoMoSnow.com">CoMoSnow.com</a></p>


<p style="display: inline;"><strong>Background information:</strong> Mist without any other precipitation falling on 22 degree pavement produced a thin film of ice on pavements through the afternoon today. Widespread slick conditions occurred with some refreeze conditions. Air temperature rose to 32 degrees at about 6.15 pm this evening and is trending upward.</p>


<p style="display: inline;"><strong>Tentative Forecast:</strong> Expected temperatures are 36 overnight.</p>
<p style="display: inline;">A similar or worse winter event could develop tomorrow as drizzle is expected at some point (unknown timing and amount) with rapidly falling temperatures around mid-morning.</p>
<p style="display: inline;">Refreeze and slick conditions may occur if pavements do not dry out. </p>


<p style="display: inline;">Public Works staff will continue to monitor the weather and street conditions throughout the night and the weekend with crews continuing to respond.</p>

<p style="display: inline;">Motorists are urged to slow down and not travel unless absolutely necessary.</p></div>
