<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Update - Arrests made and victims identified in shooting/homicide on Claudell Lane</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">Columbia Police detectives have arrested Dariel Marquise Reid, 18, and Brian Hakeem Smith, 18, both of Columbia in reference to yesterday's double shooting in the 1000 block of Claudell Lane. A 16-year-old male juvenile was also taken into custody.</p>
<p>Officers responded at 12:49 p.m. yesterday to the 1000 block of Claudell Lane in reference to a gunshot wound. Officers located two male victims with gunshot wounds. One victim sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest. That victim, identified as Keith E. Chambers, 33, died at the hospital shortly after being transported.</p>
<p>Detectives' investigation determined Keith Chambers and Brian Smith arranged to purchase marijuana from Dariel Reid, who was accompanied by a 16-year-old juvenile. A dispute occurred during the transaction at which time shots were exchanged between the parties. Reid was struck in the arm and Chambers was struck in the chest.</p>
<p>Reid was arrested at 1:05 p.m. for Murder in the Second Degree and Felony Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture/Produce of a Controlled Substance with bonds to be set by the Court.</p>
<p>Smith was arrested at 1:05 p.m. in the 1000 block of Claudell Lane for Murder in the Second Degree, Robbery, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felony Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture/Produce of a Controlled Substance with bonds to be set by the Court.</p>
<p>The 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody for Murder in the Second Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felony Distribution/Delivery/Manufacture/Produce of a Controlled Substance with disposition to be handled by the Boone County Juvenile Office.</p>
