<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Shooting in the 1500 block of Riva Ridge Court</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">Columbia Police officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Riva Ridge Court at 5:25 p.m. today in reference to shots heard. A short time later, a male subject arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.</p>

<p>The preliminary investigation revealed two male subjects agreed to meet in the 1500 block of Riva Ridge Court to make a transaction for a cell phone. As the potential buyer was handling the phone, he fled on foot with the item. The seller retrieved a handgun from his person and began discharging the firearm towards the subject. The subject was struck in the leg by the gunfire, but proceeded to flee into the woods. Upon officers' arrival, the seller was detained pending further investigation. To ensure the subject who was shot received medical treatment, Boone County Sheriff's Department assisted with a K-9 track through the woods in an attempt to find him.</p>

<p>A short time later, officers were notified the gunshot wound victim arrived at a local hospital. Officers responded to the hospital to question the subject. The injury was determined to be non-life-threatening. There were no further injuries or property damage as a result of this incident. Arrest(s) are pending as the investigation is on-going.</p>
