<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 3300 New Haven Road, Lenoir Health Care, on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 3:40am.<br /><br />Units arrived on the scene less than four minutes later with no smoke or fire visible.<br /><br />A property representative directed crews to a patio at the rear of the building. Crews observed fire damage to a plant box and two exterior posts. A sprinkler head was activated, there was no active fire.<br /><br />Assistant Fire Marshal Joel Pauley conducted an origin and cause investigation and determined that improperly discarded smoking materials caused the fire. The property representative that met first arriving crews stated that he extinguished part of the fire prior to the sprinkler activation. Damage is estimated at $1,000.<br /><br />Eight units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this c
all. There were no reported injuries.<br /></div>
