<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">The City of Columbia Volunteer Program is inviting the public to assist with a litter pickup of Rock Quarry Road on Saturday, March 11, 7:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Volunteers should meet at 7:15 a.m. at Capen Park for instructions and to receive supplies. Harold's Doughnuts is providing volunteers with donuts during the briefing.</p>
<p>"Rock Quarry Road is a designated scenic roadway and valued for its beauty in our City," said Leigh Kottwitz, Neighborhood Services Manager for the City of Columbia. "Unfortunately, the roadside is littered with trash, posing environmental risks and ongoing concern for residents.  We are asking the community to assist in returning the scenic character to this stretch of road."</p>
<p>Rock Quarry Road will remain open during the event with intermittent lane closures.  Individuals are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Those travelling through the area are urged to exercise extreme caution and watch for the volunteers in the roadway. A special thanks to the City's Street Division for their support and keeping the volunteers safe.</p>
