<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Multiple Weekend Structure Fires</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia Fire Crews responded to multiple weekend structure fires.<br /><br />On Friday, March 10 at 6:16 PM, units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to 905 Hardin for a residential structure fire.  Fire crews arrived three minutes later and found a residence with heavy black smoke showing from the front door.  Crews entered and found an active fire in the kitchen.  <br /><br />The fire was extinguished in approximately 10 minutes using a pre-connected attack line.  No injuries were reported.<br /><br />Assistant Fire Marshal Jim Pasley investigated the fire.  He determined the fire was caused by unattended cooking in the kitchen.  Damage was estimated at $15,000.  Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents in locating a place to stay.<br /><br />On Sunday, March 12 at 5:25 AM, units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to th
 
 e 1100 block of Vandiver Drive for a residential structure fire.  Fire crews arrived 5 minutes later and found a small fire in the back of the residence.  Crews quickly extinguished the fire using a hand-held extinguisher.<br /><br />The Columbia Fire Department is working with the Columbia Police Department on the investigation.  No injuries were reported.<br /></div>
