<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">At its meeting on March 11, 2017 the Columbia City Council approved several amendments to the draft Unified Development Code (UDC) which has been under consideration by the Council since February. The amendments have been incorporated into the latest draft of the UDC which is available on the City's website at the website address shown below. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The UDC public hearing has continued over a series of City Council meetings with the next, and possibly last, meeting scheduled for Monday, March 20. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Speaker sign-up will begin at 6 p.m. immediately prior to the City Council meeting. Any person may speak, even if the individual has spoken at a previous UDC public hearing. Unless extended time is granted by the Council, the regular meeting public comment rules allowing each speaker three minutes to provide verbal comments will be in place for the March 20 meeting.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">City Council is expected to discuss final amendments and possibly vote on adoption of the entire UDC, as amended, Monday after the public hearing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">About the UDC:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The UDC contains revised zoning and subdivision provisions and it consolidates development standards in a single chapter of the City Code. These changes include, but are not limited to, Chapters 25 and 29 of the City Code. The City's Planning and Zoning Commission held seven public hearings on the Code from October to December 2016 that culmina
ted on January 5, 2017 with a unanimous (9-0) recommendation that City Council adopt the new standards. </span></p></div>
