<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Assault with a knife in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">Columbia Police officers responded to the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane today at 11:20 a.m. in reference to a physical disturbance.</p>

<p>Upon officers' arrival they located a male victim, 28, outside with a knife wound. Officers provided first aid to the victim until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived. Once EMS arrived, the victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.</p>

<p>The preliminary investigation revealed the victim and another male subject arrived at a residence in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane. The victim and male subject were allowed inside the residence by two male suspects. While inside the residence, a physical altercation began. One of the male suspects retrieved a knife and attacked the victim. The altercation continued outside before the suspect who attacked the victim fled the scene into a nearby residence. The male subject who arrived with the victim managed to detain the second suspect outside until officers' arrival.</p>

<p>Officers began to establish a perimeter around the residence it was believed the suspect had fled into. The suspect voluntarily exited the residence and was detained without incident. Both suspects were transported to the Columbia Police Department.</p>

<p>The male subject, 52, who had arrived with the victim sustained injuries to his head during the altercation. He was treated at a local hospital for his injuries.</p>

<p>The Criminal Investigations Division is continuing the investigation of this incident. At this time, it is not believed that there are any outstanding suspects in this case. Arrests are pending.</p>
