<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Rice Road, Kelsey Drive Neighborhood Traffic Management Project scheduled for May 1-12</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Public Works announced on Tuesday, April 25, that Street Division crews are scheduled to begin work on the </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rice Road and Kelsey Drive Neighborhood Traffic Management Project </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">on Monday, May 1, weather permitting.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rice Road is No. 3 on the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List. The goal of this project is to calm the traffic on Rice Road and Kelsey Drive by installing speed tables and humps.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"The neighborhood was concerned with aesthetics, protecting the bike lanes, smoothness of ride, and effectiveness for everyone," said Traffic Engineer Lee White. "This led to selecting a combination speed table and speed hump approach."</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Two Interested Parties meetings, open to the public, were held on Dec. 2, 2015, and July 12, 2016, with final approval by the City Council after a public hearing on Nov. 21, 2016.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The estimated investment of $72,000 into this traffic management project is funded through Annual Traffic Calming Funds. More information about the project is available at <a href="http://www.como.gov/publicworks/rice-kelsey">www.como.gov/publicworks/rice-kelsey</a>.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> should use extreme caution int eh work zone and use alternate routes if possible. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists. Minor delays are expected. The project is scheduled to be completed by 5 p.m., May 12, weather permitting.</span></p>
