<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Fire Overnight on Ridgecrest Drive</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 3408 Ridgecrest Drive on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1:40am.  <br /><br />Units arrived on the scene approximately eight minutes later and observed smoke coming from the residence.<br /><br />Fire crews deployed a pre-connected hose line and performed an aggressive fire attack. The situation was brought under control in under five minutes.  The fire was contained to the kitchen.  <br /><br />One adult and two dogs were in the home at the time of the fire.  All escaped unharmed.<br /><br />Fire Investigator, Battalion Chief Tim Bach determined the fire originated on the stove as a result of unattended cooking. Damage is estimated at $60,000.<br /><br />Eight units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call.  There were no reported injuries.<br /><br />The Columbia Fire Department re
 
 minds residents that working smoke alarms save lives.  Test your smoke alarms at least once a month by pressing the test button.  Replace smoke alarm batteries at least once a year.  Replace smoke alarms every ten years.  To ensure adequate protection place smoke alarms in every sleeping room and in a common area on every floor.</div>
