<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - On Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 10:19 PM, units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to 3710 Prescott Drive for a residential structure fire.  A caller reported smoke alarms sounding and visible smoke in the adjoining half of his duplex.  <br /><br />Fire units arrived on the scene four minutes later and found an active fire in the structure.  The fire was extinguished using a preconnected hose line and brought under control in approximately 10 minutes.  The residents were not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.<br /><br />Assistant Fire Marshal Kyle Edwards investigated the fire.  He determined the fire originated in the kitchen of the residence.  The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in smoke and fire damage.  The cause is still under investigation.<br /><br />A total of seven Columbia Fire Department units responded to the scen
