<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Successful summer food program enters final weeks</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">As the new school year draws near, the 17th year of the summertime lunch program coordinated by Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is coming to a close. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A successful partnership between Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, Columbia Public Schools, Columbia Parks and Recreation and Voluntary Action Center has allowed Lunch in the Park to serve healthy, wholesome meals this summer from June to August in Douglass Park on weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The USDA-funded program, an extension of the school free and reduced lunch program, has served an average of 100 children per day this summer, and ends the current year on Friday, Aug. 4.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For the final three weeks of the program, children at Lunch in the Park will be joined weekly on Fridays by the following special guests: Mary Phillips, wife of Mayor Brian Treece, on July 21; Mayor Brian Treece on July 28; and on Friday, Aug. 4, a presentation on the upcoming total solar eclipse with Megan McConachie, Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau; Kenton Gewecke, KOMU 8 Chief Meteorologist and Val Germann, Central Missouri Astronomical Association. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lunch in the Park is located in Douglass Park at the main shelter next to the playground on Rogers Street. </span></p></div>
