<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The scheduled work on MKT Trail bridges 5, 7 and 8 has been postponed and the trail is open until further notice. When the work is rescheduled, users will be notified via press release, social media and on the City's web page at <a href="https://www.como.gov/ParksandRec/Trails" target="_blank">https://www.CoMo.gov/ParksandRec/Trails</a>. The bridge work will close the MKT Trail from the northeast side of the 3M Wetlands to just southwest of the Stadium Drive underpass.<br /><br /><em>Original press release:</em><br /><br />In preparation for this winter's MKT Trail bridge replacement project, crews will be conducting preliminary work on bridges 5, 7 and 8 on Monday, July 31. All three bridges will be closed to trail users at this time. The work is expected to take a full day.<br /> <br />Crews will be drilling on all three bridges, making them unsafe for use while the work is being conducted. Trail
 
  users are encouraged to avoid this area of the MKT, which extends from the east side of the 3M Wetlands to just southwest of the Stadium Drive underpass. Signage will be posted at affected areas. <br /><br />The work is necessary to prepare for the bridge replacement project, which will begin in November. During this project, trail users will be asked to use a detour. The project should be completed by April 2018, depending on weather.<br /> <br />The MKT bridge replacement project will be funded by the Park Sales Tax and a Recreational Trail Program grant. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 573-874-7460.</div>
