<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">To give City of Columbia employees the opportunity to observe the historic total solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21, many City offices will be closed for one hour from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Below are details about specific departments and how services may be adjusted for the day.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">City of Columbia Utilities</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Solid Waste - Trash and recycling collection will begin at 5 a.m. on this date only. This will not affect the collection schedule for the rest of the week.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Utility Customer Service Center and the Cashiers offices (including the drive through) will be closed from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Customers may make payments via the drop box in the alley on the north side of City Hall. </span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Fire Department</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emergency operations are available as normal.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Police Department</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emergency operations are available as normal.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Municipal Court </span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">11 a.m. and 2 p.m. court dockets will be heard as scheduled.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Those wishing make a payment from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. may do so by placing the payment in the drop box on the second floor of the Howard Municipal Building. Payments received during this time will be processed before close of business on the same day.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />City Manager, City Clerk, Community Relations, Community Development, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Economic Development, REDI and Law</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. This includes the Customer Service Center on the third floor where permits and payments are processed and the Business License office on the fifth floor. The Contact Center will be closed and all calls will be taken via voicemail and returned when offices reopen.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Public Health and Human Services</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">No birth or death certificates, food handler cards or animal licenses will be issued.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The clinics will also be closed (no patients have been scheduled during this time period). </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Animal Control will respond to emergency incidents.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Parks and Recreation</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ARC, Lake of the Woods Golf Course, L.A. Nickel Golf Course, the Armory and the Hillcrest Community Center will operate as normal.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Columbia Regional Airport</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">All flights and services will proceed as scheduled. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">There are no public viewing areas at Columbia Regional Airport.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Offices will be open.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br />Columbia Public Works</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Administrative offices will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">No parking permits will be issued in this time period</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Go COMO will not operate from 12:30 to 2 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tiger Line will not operate from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Parking meter and garage parking regulations will be enforced. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Construction projects will be suspended for the day. Minor repairs which do not affect traffic flow may continue.</span></li>
