(COLUMBIA, MO) -
The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced on Sept. 8 that APLEX Inc. plans to begin installing center median islands at the intersection of Stadium Boulevard and Old 63 during evening hours, Sept. 11-16, weather permitting.

This will result in Stadium Boulevard being reduced to one lane in each direction at the approach to the intersection. Lane reductions will be in place each evening Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. Work is expected to be completed by 7 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 16. No left turns will be permitted from Stadium onto Old 63 during this phase of construction. Right turn lanes will remain open.

In addition to the median work, some repairs will be made to the access road at the southwest corner of the intersection. This access road will remain open but with limited access.

Extreme caution is requested in the work zone. Students and others using the intersection during their commute may want to consider finding alternate routes as minor delays are always possible during construction. However, the intersection remains open without a detour.

Updates on project progress will be available throughout the year at www.como.gov/publicworks/stadium-old63.
