(COLUMBIA, MO) -
TREKK Design Group, LLC and the City of Columbia Sewer Utility will be conducting smoke tests throughout a large portion of the Flat Branch Watershed beginning Wednesday, Sept. 13. Smoke tests will be conducted in small segments near previous source area removal projects in central Columbia. This work will determine if repairs made by the City have removed instances of inflow and infiltration of stromwater into the sewer system. The testing may last through October, weather permitting.

Residents located near the testing areas will receive door hangers with further instructions. The smoke is non-toxic, non-staining, odorless, white to gray in color and is harmless to pets. If smoke is detected in a building or home, the room should be ventilated through an open window or door. For assistance or questions, contact TREKK at (573) 445-4275.

For additional information about inflow and infiltration or smoke testing, please visit our website.
