<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">Columbia Police officers have confirmed the victim in last night's shooting in the 1800 block of McKee Street has died.</p>
<p>The 31-year-old male victim was transported to a local hospital after officers located him with a gunshot wound in the 1800 block of McKee Street Friday night. Shortly after, the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel. The victim's name is being withheld at this time until next of kin is notified.</p>
<p>Officers were dispatched to the area at 9:33 p.m. after receiving reports of shots heard. Boone County Joint Communications advised officers while they were in route that a male victim had been shot. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers canvassed the area and did not locate any further injuries or property damage from the gunfire. Criminal Investigations Division detectives have taken over this investigation and are diligently working to determine what led up to the shooting. The investigation is on-going.</p>
