<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) will be offering flu shots for all individuals age six months and older at community flu clinics throughout Boone County this fall.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A high dose flu shot is available specifically for persons age 65 and older. Individuals with a severe egg allergy should contact their medical provider about receiving the flu vaccine. </span><strong>Please note due to a recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the FluMist® nasal spray vaccine will not be offered this season.</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">No appointment is needed at the community flu clinics; walk-ins are welcome. This year's schedule includes:</span></p>

<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Wednesday, Sept. 20: Hartsburg Legion Hall, 9-10 a.m. (35 S. Second St., Hartsburg)</span></li>
</ul>

<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monday, Sept. 25: Moniteau Housing Community Room, 2-3 p.m. (600 E. Fourth St., Rocheport)</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thursday, Oct. 5: Hallsville Intermediate School Commons, 3:30-6 p.m. (411 E. Hwy 124, Hallsville)</span></li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thursday, Oct. 12: Harrisburg Community Room, 3:30-6 p.m. (1000 S. Harris St., Harrisburg)</span></li>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Thanks to generous support from MU Children's Hospital and the David B. Lichtenstein Foundation, PHHS continue to provide free flu vaccine to all children age six months through 18 years. For adults age 19 and older, the cost of the vaccine depends on insurance coverage. PHHS community flu clinics accept cash, checks and can bill many insurance plans. </span><strong>Please note that PHHS does not have a way to charge debit or credit cards at the community flu clinics. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">The cost of the vaccine is $25 for self-pay individuals. Receipts can be provided upon request. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The flu vaccine is also available without an appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the PHHS clinic, located at 1005 W. Worley St. in Columbia. </span></p>
