<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Minor Fire Damage To A South Columbia Home</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - On Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at 11:13 AM, units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to 2804 Melody Lane for a residential structure fire.  The first unit arrived four minutes later and found light smoke coming from an exterior wall of the residence.  Firefighters found a mostly extinguished fire in the exterior wall of the residence and removed some drywall to extinguish a small amount of remaining fire and check for fire extension.  Damage was limited to the exterior wall of the structure.  No injuries were reported.<br /><br />The Columbia Fire Department Fire Marshal's Division conducted a fire cause investigation at the scene.  They determined the fire started when a torch being used by workers ignited combustible materials in the wall.  The workers extinguished the majority of the fire before crews arrived.  Damages are estimated at $3000.<br
