<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">UPDATE DETAILS: Ash Street will remain closed near Hubbell Drive in order to place a manhole which is necessary for the Private Common Collector Elimination (PCCE) sewer project.  Work is taking longer than expected due to the water, gas mains located in the intersection and is expected to conclude by Dec. 20.  During this time, drivers may use the detour at St. James and St. Joseph or by using Walnut Street to travel east/west.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Once the PCCE project is complete, buildings along Hubbell will be connected to the City's public sewer.  Removal of private sewers reduces the occurrence of inflow, infiltration, and overflows and minimizes the frequency of maintenance.    </span></p>
<p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><a href="https://www.como.gov/CMS/pressreleases/view.php?id=5332">Original Press Release</a>: The City of Columbia Sewer Utility and contractor, Twehous Excavating Company, Inc., will fully close Ash Street at the north end of Hubbell Drive for three days beginning Wednesday, Dec. 6, weather permitting.  </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">During this time, drivers may use the detour at St. James and St. Joseph or by using Walnut Street to travel east/west.  </span></p>
