<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">CPD to host active shooter/violent intruder response training on January 13</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">On Saturday, January 13, 2017, the Columbia Police Department will host two FREE training sessions related to an active shooter/violent intruder response. These sessions are open to local leaders of churches, schools, hospitals, businesses, and other organizations. Pre-registration is required.</p>

<p>The sessions will take place at the CPD Regional Training Center located at 5001 Meyer Industrial Drive in Columbia. The first session will be from 8:30 until 11:00 a.m. and the second session will be from 1:00 until 3:30 p.m. Participants will select only one of the two sessions to attend as both will contain the same material.</p>

<p>Sgt. Mike Hestir and Officer Jeff Forck will facilitate the training. Each session will include the process of planning for and reacting to an armed intruder, and the decision making citizens may have to employ in a crisis where they and those around them may be the target. Our department has received several requests for this training over the past few months. In order to accommodate a large number of requests for the training, these sessions are being offered and can accommodate up to 65 participants per session.</p>
