<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:200%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Registration open for Columbia's Fair Housing and Lending Seminar scheduled for April 5-6</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia and its Human Rights Commission and Disabilities Commission announce that registration for the 2018 Fair Housing and Lending Seminar is now open. <br /><br />The City's Annual Fair Housing and Lending Seminar will be held on Thursday, April 5, from noon to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, April 6, from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The seminar will be held at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. <br /><br />These free public events will include presentations by fair housing and lending experts. Mayor Brian Treece will present the Mayor's Proclamation declaring April Fair Housing and Lending Month on Friday morning. The City is also celebrating 50 years of fair housing in Columbia.<br /><br />On Thursday, April 5, Nate Johnson, president of Real Estate Solutions Group, will present a program entitled "Focus on Fair Housing." <br /><br />On Friday, April 6, the City
of Columbia's Housing Programs Manager Randy Cole will speak on affirmatively furthering fair housing in Columbia and the Community Land Trust. Historian, author and Executive Director of the State Historical Society of Missouri Gary Kremer will provide a historical perspective of redlining and fair housing and lending in Missouri. University of Missouri Law Professor and Fair Housing Expert Rigel Oliveri will provide attendees with updates on fair housing and lending laws and HUD action. The afternoon features concurrent sessions. There will be a small group building inclusive communities workshop. Eric Krekel, the director of Investigative Operations for the Missouri Commission on Human Rights will speak on Fair Housing and Lending Complaints under the Missouri Human Rights Act. Assistant Director of the Metropolitan St. Louis Equal Housing and Opportunity Council Elisabeth Risch will present on redlining, fair lending and the Community
Reinvestment Act. <br /><br />The event will also include a City programs fair.
