<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">The Columbia Police Department (CPD) cooperated in an investigation conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) in reference to the shooting of Clarence E. Coats on May 13, 2017.</p>

<p>On December 7, 2017, Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher Wilson released his findings and determined that no charges will be filed in connection to the incident. The following report from MSHP has been made available:</p>

<p>CPD Officer Papineau was called in as a member of the SWAT Team on May 13, 2017 and responded directly to the scene per procedure on call-ins for active shooter events; therefore, he was not wearing a body worn camera.</p>
