<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Public Works will host an open-house style interested parties meeting concerning a Rain Forest Parkway calming project on Monday, May 14. The meeting will take place</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> from </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Derby Ridge Elementary School, 4000 Derby Ridge Dr.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The goal of the project is to calm traffic on Rain Forest Parkway between Providence Road and Range Line Street.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Rain Forest Parkway</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> has been identified as a street with traffic operating speeds higher than desirable speeds. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">It is number five on the 2017 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The purpose of the meeting is to review potential solutions, define and prioritize problems and identify desired outcomes. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Information and diagrams showing preliminary design concepts will be available for public review, and City engineering staff will be present to answer questions. A public comment form will be available so resident input can be considered as the design is developed.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Construction is currently planned for 2019 subject to the City’s public involvement process and City Council approval. Additional information is located on the City's website at <a href="https://www.como.gov/CMS/pressreleases/CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Rainforest-calming">CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Rainforest-calming</a>.</span></p></div>
