<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;">Columbia Parks and Recreation is planning two dedication ceremonies on Saturday, May 12 at Douglass Park, 400 N. Providence Road.</p>

<p>The Wynna Faye Tapp-Elbert Memorial Amphitheater will be dedicated at 5 p.m. and the John and Rod Kelly Baseball Field will be dedicated at 5:45 p.m.</p>

<p>Tapp-Elbert worked for Columbia Parks and Recreation for 30 years in the Community Recreation Division. She was also a community activist who was involved with many organizations including the Missouri Ethnic Minority Society and Judicial Law Enforcement Task Force, founder of the Frederick Douglass Coalition, NAACP and the J.W. "Blind" Boone Heritage Foundation Board.</p>

<p>John and Rod Kelly are known as the "baseball brothers" at Douglass Park. They have been instrumental in the formation and development of the Douglass Bulldog Baseball League, which began in 1996. John Kelly was a long-time assistant principal and athletic director at Hickman High School. Rod Kelly worked at Shelter Insurance and Columbia Public Schools, and was the voice of Missouri Tigers basketball for many years.  </p>

<p>The dedication ceremonies will be part of festivities at the Heritage Day Block Party. Heritage Day will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. and will include table games, inflatables, community booths, job fair, DJ and refreshments. The free event is held annually as an unofficial kickoff to the summer at Douglass Park.     </p>
