<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - On Wednesday, June 27, the City of Columbia will dedicate the recently-completed traffic box art at the corner of Seventh and Cherry streets in downtown Columbia. A ribbon cutting will take place at 12:15 p.m. at the site of the traffic signal box and the artist will be recognized by the chair of the Commission on Cultural Affairs.<br /><br />"This design captures the vibrancy of train travel, showcases the beauty of Missouri’s forests in spring, and pays tribute to our history and a driving force that helped develop the heart of our city," artist Amanda Harms said. "I want to bring the corner of Seventh and Cherry alive with the memory of a world since-forgotten."  <br /><br />Harms was selected by the Commission on Cultural Affairs Standing Committee on Public Art from the 11 artists and over 15 designs submitted. The traffic box art program was created to deter gra
 
 ffiti while making the signal boxes artful additions to the downtown streets. Since 2007, the City of Columbia has commissioned 13 traffic box projects.</div>
