<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services Department (PHHS) invites the public to a free HIV testing event on National HIV Testing Day, Wednesday, June 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. Testing will be conducted at Living Canvas, 520 E. Broadway in Columbia. Tests require a finger prick and take 15 minutes to run.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, which was first observed on June 27, 1995. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this year's theme "Doing it My Way, Testing for HIV," is a reminder that each person has their own reasons for why they test for HIV and their own unique ways of "Doing It." About 1.1 million people in the United States have HIV, and 1 in 7 of them don't know it. The CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care.</span></p>
