<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia Stormwater Utility and contractor, Mera Excavating, LLC, re</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">opened Sinclair Road in time for Mill Creek Elementary School's Back to School Night, Thursday, Aug. 9.  This project was completed and roadway opened one day ahead of schedule. Crews will conduct final cleanup, grading and seed work over the next week.  Drivers should use caution. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This project replaced three severely failing metal pipes with a precast concrete culvert which will significantly reduce the chance of street flooding and improve safety.  This high priority improvement is the second major culvert replacement project that Tom Wellman, engineer, has managed since voters approved the stormwater rate increase in 2015.  He, along with David Bugg, inspector, and Kori Thompson, supervisor, have done outstanding work to ensure timely completion.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The City of Columbia Public Works Department also completed its Sinclair Road Sidewalk capital improvement project south of Muirfield Drive during this time.</span></p></div>
