<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs is holding an interested parties meeting Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Walton Building Community Room, 300 S. Providence Road, to discuss the Resident Arts mural project in a new location in the MKT Trail tunnel beneath Elm Street. <br /><br />The mural was originally planned to be completed on the City-owned retaining wall on Old Highway 63, south of Broadway and north of Hinkson Creek, but was moved to better fit the project timeline.   <br /> <br /> Resident Arts, a local nonprofit arts organization, has proposed a mural on the City-owned tunnel wall on the MKT Trail, beneath Elm Street. Resident Arts has been awarded a grant, which will completely fund the project. No City funds are planned to be used. The project is a collaborative community-based mural that involves numerous partners including the City of Columbia&r
 
 squo;s Office of Sustainability, Parks and Recreation, Public Works and the Office of Cultural Affairs. The design of the mural will highlight the importance of science in relation to the City’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. <br /> <br /> The purpose of the meeting is to present the mural design concept for the tunnel and to answer questions from the public. Information and design layout will be available for public review. City staff and representatives from Resident Arts will be present to answer questions. A public comment form will also be available.</div>
