<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) will be offering flu shots for all individuals age six months and older at community flu clinics throughout Boone County this fall.<br /><br />A high dose flu shot is available specifically for persons age 65 and older. Individuals with a severe egg allergy should contact their medical provider about receiving the flu vaccine. <br /><br />No appointment is needed at the community flu clinics; walk-ins are welcome. This year's schedule includes:<br />
<ul>
<li>Thursday, Oct. 4: Sturgeon Elementary/Middle School Cafeteria, 3:30 to 6 p.m. (210 W. Patton St., Sturgeon)</li>
<li>Thursday, Oct. 11: Centralia Intermediate School, 3:30 to 6 p.m. (550 W. Lakeview, Centralia)</li>
<li>Thursday, Oct. 18: Southern Boone Primary School, 3:30 to 6 p.m. (803 S. Henry Clay Blvd., Ashland)</li>
<li>Thursday, Oct. 25: Harrisburg Community Room, 3:30 to 6 p.m. (1000 S. Harris St., Harrisburg)</li>
<li>Tuesday, October 30: Moniteau Housing Community Room, 2 to 3 p.m. (600 E. Fourth St., Rocheport)</li>
<li>Thursday, Nov. 8: Hallsville Intermediate School Commons, 3:30 to 6 p.m. (411 E. Hwy 124, Hallsville)</li>
</ul>
<br />Thanks to generous support from the MU Children's Hospital and the David B. Lichtenstein Foundation, PHHS continues to provide free flu vaccines to all children age six months through 18 years. For adults age 19 and older, the cost of the vaccine depends on insurance. PHHS community flu clinics accept cash, checks and can bill many insurance plans. <strong>Please note that PHHS does not have a way to charge debit or credit cards at the community flu clinics.</strong> The cost of the vaccine is $25 for self-pay individuals. Receipts can be provided upon request. <br /><br />The flu vaccine is also available without an appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the PHHS clinic, located at 1005 W. Worley St. in Columbia. <br /><br />For more information, please visit CoMo.gov/health/flu. A list of the insurance providers accepted through the VaxCare billing system can be found at <a href="http://www.como.gov/health/clinical-services/clinical-service-fees
