<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Over the last year, Boone County has been raising awareness about the importance of mental health awareness and seeking support through a campaign called </span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Look Around Boone</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">. <br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Led by the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services, in partnership with local organizations and schools and with financial support form the Boone County Community Health Fund, the campaign reached more than </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">50,000 people, including </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">all public school students in Boone County in grades 6 through 12.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">This year, the campaign will continue under the coordination of the Family Acc
ess Center of Excellence (FACE) of Boone County, which provides </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">a single point of entry for families with youth ages 0 through 19 who are seeking services for social, emotional or behavioral concerns.<br /><br /></span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The 2018-2019 campaign will also include an opportunity for students from across Boone County to get involved in developing this year’s messages to the community--a Creative Contest. Creative expression from students will be a powerful way to destigmatize mental health issues and encourage help-seeking. Passionate youth leaders will be helping to grow the movement and engage our community by participating in the contest. Students can submit artwork, photography or videos, and winning entries will be featured in the campaign.
