(COLUMBIA, MO) -
The City of Columbia has negotiated a draft interim agreement (attached) with Bird Dockless Scooter Share Company which has been signed by officials at Bird.

The draft interim agreement is scheduled to be on the Nov. 5 City Council agenda as an Introduction and First Reading item and then on New Business on the Nov. 19 agenda for public and Council discussion.

In addition to drawing from other municipalities that have agreements with Bird, City staff also had discussions with various constituents such as PedNet, Columbia College, Stephens College, the University of Missouri, the Downtown CID, and the Downtown Leadership Council, as well as consulting the minutes of the Biking and Pedestrian Commission and the Disabilities Commission. These conversations, plus feedback via email and phone calls from citizens, have helped shape the draft interim agreement.

Other dockless scooter companies, such as Lime and Pony, have contacted the City of Columbia and have been informed the City will be using the Bird agreement, should Council decide to move forward with it, as a template for all other agreements.

Citizens who are interested in providing feedback about the draft agreement are encouraged to contact their Council Member and/or attend the public hearing, which is currently slated for Nov. 19.
