<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:145%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">UPDATE: Suspect arrested for Dec. 23 assault with life threatening injuries</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jessie R. Williams, 28, of Columbia, was arrested for 1st Degree Assault and Armed Criminal Action in connection to the assault at Casey's General Store, 2520 Range Line Street, on December 23</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Evidence collected and information from witnesses enabled officers and detectives to learn the identity of the suspect and begin searching for him. This afternoon at approximately 3:40 p.m. the suspect was located at the Welcome Inn, </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">1612 N. Providence Road. After refusing to exit his hotel room the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) and SWAT teams were activated to assist. A short time after their arrival the suspect surrendered without incident.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police appreciate the community assistance in developing leads which lead to the arrest for a felony crime. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Williams </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">will be remanded to the custody of the Boone County Jail. There are no photos available at this time.</span></p>
