<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:145%;"><h3 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 170%;">Vehicle Fire at Eighth and Cherry Parking Garage</h3>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire inside a parking structure at 10:00am on Friday, January 25, 2019.<br /><br />Crews arrived less than five minutes later and observed smoke and flames coming from a passenger vehicle on the second floor of the parking garage.  Crews used a stairwell standpipe to deploy hose line and brought the fire under control in approximately five minutes.<br /><br />The fire caused damage to the roof decking material on the second floor above the vehicle that was on fire.  Columbia Public Works was requested to respond to inspect the damaged area.  The parking garage will be closed until that area is further evaluated.  Damage to the structure is estimated at $60,000.  The cause of the fire is undetermined.<br /><br />   </div>
