<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - At the Monday, Feb. 4, pre-Council meeting, Columbia Interim City Manager John Glascock introduced Carey Bryce as the City’s new internal auditor.<br /><br />Bryce recently relocated to Columbia from California, where she was an analyst with the City of Oceanside. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration in accounting, and started her auditing career shortly thereafter with the state of California. Carey has approximately 15 years of auditing experience, primarily as an internal auditor focused on operational/performance audits. <br /><br />"As the new internal auditor, I am looking forward to not only determining if the City is adequately meeting stated performance goals, but also going beyond that to identify efficiencies within City operations, resulting in more effective delivery of City services," Bryce said.<br /><br />Her professiona
 
 l experience includes, in addition to the state of California, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, California Federal Bank and Orange County Transportation Authority. Carey is also a Certified Internal Auditor.<br /><br />Bryce will report to the city manager and will work closely with Council-appointed Finance Advisory and Audit Committee. She will perform a broad range of operational analyses involving both operational and financial audits and a variety of other analytical tasks relating to the efficient and economical operation of City government.<br /><br />"Carey will bring new skills and talents to the internal auditor position that we've never had before. She will be a benefit to our internal assessment and evaluation processes and ensuring we are good stewards of the resources provided by our community," Glascock said.</div>
