(COLUMBIA, MO) - A 33-person City of Columbia plow crew reported at 7 a.m. to continue working on priority routes and then move into neighborhoods once priority routes are near normal. (Five plows have already begun the process of moving into neighborhoods.)

More than 4 inches of snow accumulation occurred. Low overnight temperatures inhibited the effectiveness of road treatments.

Crews will focus on first, second and third priority routes until they are back to near normal and then enter neighborhoods beginning at the center of the city and moving outward, possibly beginning at noon or soon after.

Complicating the response is a system that may move in around 7 pm tonight. Forecast is for between 1⁄2" and 1.5" of snow, but mixing with freezing drizzle. Surfaces that have been plowed and treated would likely become covered again. This may require a return to focusin
g on priority routes.

Higher temperatures in the 30s are forecast overnight tonight and Sunday.

CoMoSnow.com
