<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Each spring, PedNet Coalition hosts a variety of events for Bike, Walk & Wheel Week, May 11 to 18, in order to promote, celebrate and encourage alternative forms of transportation. This year, the City of Columbia will participate in the following events:</span></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Sunday, May 12 at 2 p.m. - </strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/525313947999100/"><strong>Mother's Day Family Fun Ride</strong></a><strong> at Stephens Lake Park </strong>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Members of the Mayor's Task Force on Climate Action and Adaptation Planning will have a table along the path and will be available to answer questions about the draft Climate Action and Adaptation Plan and planning process.</span></li>

<li><strong>Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. - </strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/389777261858007/"><strong>Walt's Bike Repair Workshop</strong></a><strong> at Walt's </strong>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Saturday, May 18 at 1 p.m. - </strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/415730488991262/"><strong>Cruise the Creeks</strong></a><strong> starts at Flat Branch Park </strong>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">"Do you know your watershed?" Cyclists will enjoy a 2.75 mile (5.5 round trip), educational ride along the MKT trail highlighting the City and County's efforts to improve water quality in the Flat Branch/Hinkson Creek watersheds. Educational stops along the way will include Flat Branch Park, the 3M Flat Branch/Hinkson Wetlands and the Forum Nature Area Level Spreader. Speakers will discuss stormwater retrofits, such as rain gardens, bioretention cells and detention basins that remove pollutants from the "first flush" rainfall and encourage stormwater to infiltrate into the ground instead of running off into local creeks and streams. Tour and watershed discussion will be led by City of Columbia Stormwater Educator Michael Heimos, Boone County Urban Hydrologist Lynne Hooper and Boone County Stormwater Educator Michele Woolbright. </span></li>
