(COLUMBIA, MO) - The City of Columbia GIS Division of Information Technology has released a new data portal that is easier to use and now provides open data to the public.

The improved portal still houses all of the maps and web applications as before but is now easier to search and navigate. Viewers can also filter information so they can view specific data they are seeking. Open data for city limits, park trails, neighborhood associations, and wards are currently available for the public to download and use. GIS plans to continue adding data for the public to use.

"The old system did not allow for real-time data but the new portal automatically updates the information on a regular basis," GIS Analyst Dustin Goodwin said. "This allows viewers to see and download the most accurate and updated information."

The new portal is an addition to the City’s other
recent efforts, like the records request portal and the Open Checkbook, to be more transparent.

The new portal can be found at the following link: https://datahub-gocolumbiamo.opendata.arcgis.com.
