(COLUMBIA, MO) -
The City of Columbia Stormwater Utility will host an open house for interested parties Thursday, May 30 from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. The meeting will focus on the proposed project to replace failing stormwater infrastructure located near 815 S. Greenwood Ave.

The proposed project would replace 250 linear feet of metal drainage pipe and two inlets. Work is expected to take six to eight weeks and would require a two to three week closure of South Greenwood Avenue in order to remove and replace the pipes under the street. The estimated investment for this project is $135,000 and would be funded by the Stormwater Utility.

This meeting is the first step of the standard project planning process which can take a year or more to complete. Following this meeting, the project will undergo a public hearing before the City Council, acquisition of necessary easements, plan finalization and bidding the work before construction can begin.

Residents are invited to attend this interested parties meeting to learn more about the project and speak with City staff.
