(COLUMBIA, MO) -
Beginning Monday, June 3, Go COMO, Columbia’s public transit service, will implement the new fixed route system approved by the Columbia City Council in September 2018. To make this transition easier for patrons, all fixed route rides from Monday, June 3 to Saturday, June 8 will be at no cost to the riders.

Go COMO staff held numerous community outreach meetings to inform the public of these changes, but staff acknowledges that there will still be a learning curve for customers when they actually ride the new routes. That is why customers will be given the chance this first week to learn the new routes at no cost.

"We are doing this for our customers to help them acclimate to the new routes," Transit and Parking Manager Leah Christian said. "We want to ensure the smoothest transition possible for all of our customers."

Go COMO staff will host route change information tables Wednesday, May 29 through Friday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Wabash Station, 126 N. 10th St. Map booklets with the new route information can be picked up at Wabash Station, City Hall and other various places in Columbia.

Para-Transit rides will not be affected by the new route system and will still require payment during this time.
