(COLUMBIA, MO) -
Columbia Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, Columbia Farmers Market, Sustainable Farms & Communities and MU Health Care will host a dedication ceremony for Columbia’s Agriculture Park on Saturday, July 13 at 9 a.m. It will take place at the MU Health Care Pavilion, 1769 W. Ash.

The Agriculture Park is located adjacent to the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) at Clary-Shy Community Park. A community-wide Friends of Farm fundraising campaign helped pay for a large part of the new Agriculture Park. A portion of the Park’s construction was also funded by the Park Sales Tax, which was approved by voters in 2015.

The first phase of the project includes a portion of the MU Health Care Pavilion (permanent Farmers Market structure), parking, playground, gardens, walking trail and supporting infrastructure.

The second phase of construction would add more vendor stalls at the MU Health Care Pavilion, an event center and kitchen, and additional parking. These features would be built as funding allows.
