<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The Columbia Police Department gave a verbal statement to the media regarding human remains found Thursday, Aug. 15 in the 1900 block of N. Providence Road. Assistant Police Chief Jeremiah Hunter issued the following statement:<br /><br />"The Columbia Police Department in Columbia, Missouri received a call approximately 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, for a report of what appeared to be human remains in the 1900 block of N. Providence Road.<br /><br />Detectives arrived and determined the remains appeared to be a young infant of less than one year of age.<br /><br />As a parent myself, this is a very difficult situation for everyone involved, including the investigating officers and our community as a whole. Our investigation will be the voice of this baby and we need your help. If you know of a baby that has not been seen in a while we ask that you check on their well-being and contact us i
